About the Founder (Pastor/Reverend/Prophet Samuel Bilewu Joseph Oshoffa 1909-1985) in his own words.

My father was a Methodist born and bred in Dahomey (now Republic of Benin). His father’s name is OJO, and his mother’s name is KOSHINA.  They came from Abeokuta in Nigeria to Dasatre, where they settled. The artificial boundary between Nigeria and Dahomey set up by Europeans meant that my father was – a Dahomean. His name was OSHOFFA (this is obtained from ‘OJU KI ISE OFA TI OTA LE TA BANI KA SUBU, or, for short, ‘OJU KO SO FA”…..

BRIEF HISTORY

Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), is a spiritual, world-wide denominational Holy, Church divinely ordained by God  through the founder Rev. Pastor, Prophet Samuel Bilewu Joseph Oshoffa, September 29th 1947 in Porto Novo, Republic of Benin.  However, the growth of the church started when SBJ Oshoffa migrated to Nigeria and started the first church at 12/15 Church Street, Makoko, Yaba, Lagos State, Nigeria. Makoko Parish still remains the most popular of Celestial Church of Christ till today; it’s called the National Headquarters….

Pastor E M Oshoffa

Pastor Emmanuel Mobiyina Oshoffa (full name Emmanuel Mobiyina Friday Adebowale Abiodun vihan Oshoffa, born 25 December 1948) is current pastor and spiritual leader of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC)Pastor Mobiyina Oshoffa was installed as head of the CCC in December 2002.  Pastor Mobiyina Oshoffa is the first son of the Pastor Founder (Late Reverend Prophet Samuel Bilewou Joseph Oshoffa) and he is the current pastor of Celestial Church of Christ, worldwide. He was born in 1948 at Kpave, French Dahomey (now Benin), but attended university in Paris, earning his bachelor’s degree in animal biological science in 1976 and a master’s degree from the University of Nancy, France Biological Science, in 1977.  He was appointed head of the CCC Diocese of France in 1997

Pastors in Memorial

Alexander Abiodun Adebayo Bada (12/4/1930 – 9/8/2000) was the second Pastor  (1987-2000) of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), succeeding the founder Samuel Biléhou Joseph Oshoffa in December 1985. 

Philip Hunsu Ajose (10 August 1932 – 2 March 2001) was the third Pastor of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), succeeding Alexander Abiodun Adebayo Bada on 2 October 2000 and being formally declared leader on 24 December 2000. Shortly after being appointed he fell ill, dying on 2 March 2001.
