CCC Brief History

Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), is a spiritual, world-wide denominational Holy, Church divinely ordained by God  through the founder Rev. Pastor, Prophet Samuel Bilewu Joseph Oshoffa, September 29th 1947 in Porto Novo, Republic of Benin.  However, the growth of the church started when SBJ Oshoffa migrated to Nigeria and started the first church at 12/15 Church Street, Makoko, Yaba, Lagos State, Nigeria. Makoko Parish still remains the most popular parish of Celestial Church of Christ till today; it’s called the National Headquarters, while the Republic of Benin Parish is called the Supreme Headquarters.  The International Headquarter is at Mission House, Ketu, Lagos State, Nigeria.  The World Headquarter is at Imeko, Ogun State, Nigeria. Today, Celestial Church of Christ is Worldwide and growing. Its branches are called Parishes and given a slogan name for identification of God’s grace upon each church.

It is the Lord Jesus Christ that called and divinely endowed the pastor with power to heal and set free the children of God from the shackle of the enemies. It was during such miraculous works being done on Mr. Alexander Yanga, that a message came through Mr. Yanga to write down the name of the church in French which translated to be CELESTIAL CHURCH OF CHRIST.

The Spiritual head of the Celestial Church worldwide is called “PASTOR” while the leader of each church branch around the world – Parish is called “SHEPHERD” in charge. The PASTOR however, has the final resolution at any given time in Celestial Church of Christ

CCC is generally governed by its constitutions and tenets and it is a must that members of CCC must abide by the ordinances of the church as inspired by the Holy Spirit. The mode of worship is deeply spiritual and holiness is a fundamental requirement in the church. The Members wear mostly white garment called “SOUTANA” during worship times and the elders wear other colors on top of the white garment to signify their ranking in the church. There are also Loins worn on top of the Soutanas that also signifies Spiritual positioning and job delegation in the church services.

The worship in CCC is rooted in the word of God and the strong believe in Jesus Christ. There are biblical justification for all ordinances of the church. The bowing down with head on the ground embodies humility and adoration of the majestic nature of our God. We believe in Jehovah God, Jesus Christ and The Holy Spirit that encapsulate the Holy trinity; in virtually every prayer sessions and songs, you will experience this to be true.  When we commence any prayer session, we say “JEHOVAH, JESUS CHRIST, and HOLY MICHAEL”.  This is especially given to the founder as the order of prayer in CCC.
